Cooper is a Lab Assistant II in the Rando Lab. He received a B.S. in Biotechnology and M.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. In his graduate studies, Cooper investigated the regulatory mechanisms and molecular basis by which Ubiquitin-Specific Peptidase 16 (USP16) controls BMI1 abundance and activity in breast cancer models. In the Rando Lab, Cooper studies stem cell biology and muscle repair by investigating how physiological states and muscle injury impact gene expression.
